MONDAY AT THE BEACH - HUMMUS SALAD

The days are clear and warm again. The ocean is bright turqoise and flat. The on-shore breezes are light. Now that it is a weekday Hollywood Beach
parking is easy. This is almost the Florida of years ago when we first got our name, "The Sunshine State "

Here is a simple dip for chilled vegetables, no heat required.


HUMMUS for Chilled Salad


A great spread for raw vegetables such as zucchini and carrot spears, celery stalks,
Cucumber slices, broccoli florets.

Garbanzo beans – 14 oz can – puree
Sesame seeds – 4 oz. – ground
Garlic – 4 cloves – chopped
Olive oil – 2 TBL
Lemon juice – 1 lemon
Chili Stuff Chili Mix – 1 tsp
Kosher salt – 1 tsp

Put beans in a blender with the garlic and pulse until they are broken down

Add ground sesame seeds with the olive oil, lemon juice, and about half the liquid remaining in the bean can.
Pulse until ingredients become a smooth puree.

Add the Chili Mix and Kosher salt to the puree and blend together.

Serve in a bowl with the vegetables spread around the outside on a plate.
