Green Bay , Wisconsin
½ lb. Bacon, cut into pieces
Vinegar – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 1 cup
French cut green beans, frozen – defrosted – 2 pakages
Fry bacon to crisp -- Save out (remove) about 4 TBL of fat
Add vinegar, sugar, water – simmer for 5 minutes
Put beans in a kettle with hot dressing and cook until tender but still bright green.
Serve hot, or plunge beans into ice water to stop the cooking and serve them chilled, with the warm dressing drizzled over.
